As a member of a group formed in 2012 enthusiastically around the idea of taking yearly ANKOS meetings, which had been organized regularly since ANKOS’ foundation, to a new level and with a new name, ANKOSLink, I feel a great pleasure and honor to invite you to the 5th ANKOSLink.
In the previous four years, with its academic quality, profile of its participants, as well as its setting as an exhibition, ANKOSLink Conference has become the largest library event in the country and in the region. If we look at the numbers, ANKOSLink has succeeded in fashioning itself as a brand born out of libraries, with more than 550 participants and close to 60 firms. It continues to be the right address not only for libraries and librarians, but also for information professionals of all levels, from administrators to students.
In 2017, ANKOSLink Conference will be opening its doors to you on 5-8 April at Maritim Congress Center in Antalya with several novelties. This year’s theme has been set as “Changes in Learning-teaching and Libraries”. Under this thematic title, we will be eagerly hearing and discussing the changes in learning and teaching in recent years, and how the library services such as reserves are evolving into new directions; what new product groups are emerging due to these changes; and how librarians are expected to exist in new platforms.
We will be listening to experts from Turkey and abroad as they respond to the questions of how distance learning or mass open access courses would affect conventional formal education; and how these changes will be influencing us the librarians in near and far future.
Like the previous years, you will have plenty of opportunities to know about the products and innovations of our partner publishers in these 3 days.
As we are eagerly waiting for April to come, I would like to extend my gratitude, first to the members of the Executive Board, and then to all ANKOS volunteers and our partners for their efforts in realizing ANKOSLink2017.
With sincere wishes to see you all at ANKOSLink2017,
Tuba Akbaytürk Çanak
